SAN DIEGO – Authorities are searching for two teen boys suspected of setting a fire that damaged a mobile home in Spring Valley Sunday night.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reports the blaze broke out before 7:50 p.m. at 10767 Jamacha Blvd. San Miguel Fire Department crews responded and extinguished the blaze before it spread to any other homes. There were no injuries.
The sheriff’s department Bomb/Arson Unit determined the fire was intentionally set.
Witnesses told deputies that two teen boys, either white or Hispanic, between the ages of 12 and 15, were seen fleeing the area through a drainage culvert adjacent to the complex.
One neighbor told 10News her son saw the suspects throw a burn rag onto a couch sitting outside the home. Her son said the flames then spread from the couch to the home.
A financial estimate of the damage was not immediately confirmed.
