MIRA MESA, Calif. -- A teen driver survived a crash into a tree Sunday night that split the car he was driving in two.
The 18-year-old man was traveling westbound on Calle Cristobal at around 11:00 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree in the center median, which chopped his car in half, according to 10News photojournalist Paul Anderegg.
Officers searched for other passengers who may have been ejected by the impact of the crash because there was a car seat strapped into the the rear of the vehicle. However, none were found.
