Student accused of having knife on Chula Vista High School campus arrested following lockdown

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A student was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of making threats and having a knife on the Chula Vista High School campus, prompting a precautionary lockdown.

Chula Vista police said a student was being questioned at the school on 820 4th Avenue regarding possible criminal threats made the day before. However, during questioning, the student fled from officers and school staff.

The school was locked down for precautionary reasons as officers searched the campus.

The student was eventually spotted in a classroom and was arrested.

No injuries were reported, and the lockdown was lifted following the arrest.
