SAN YSIDRO, Calif. - A man suspected of attacking a 12-year-old girl in San Ysidro was taken into custody thanks to the help of a stranger.

Daniel Barajas told 10News he was driving in a neighborhood near Sunset Elementary School at around 3 p.m. when he saw a young girl trying to fight off a man who was groping her. The girl was yelling at the man to let her go.

Barajas said he came to the girl's aid and chased the man. Meanwhile, Barajas' family in the car called police.

After a brief foot pursuit, Barajas said he caught up with the suspected attacker, tackled him and detained the man until police officers arrived.

The suspected attacker was arrested, and 10News learned Barajas would not face any charges.
