SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Kevin Luo of Pacific Trails Middle School is getting ready for his trip to Washington D.C. to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Luo, who is a student at Pacific Trails Middle School, was crowned the winner of the countywide spelling bee in March. Last year's winner, Yash Hande, was also a student at Pacific Trails.
Luo said in an interview with 10News that the Hande is helping him prepare for the national Bee.

Luo also expressed that he is a little nervous to be on the national stage. “It’s probably going to be really intense for the first few days but after that, it will be relaxed.”
The Scripps National Spelling Bee will take place May 29-31 in Washington, D.C.
