(KGTV) - The 15-year-old son of former Padres infielder Keith Lockhart is in an Atlanta hospital after he was injured during a baseball tournament game.
Jason Lockhart was hit in the face with a ball June 17, according to his sister Sydney's Facebook page. She posted that Jason had minor pain until he began bleeding uncontrollably two days later.
Sydney said Jason's accident severed an artery. He has been sedated at Children's at Scottish Rite Hospital and needs surgery, she wrote.
Sydney and Jason's father, Keith Lockhart, made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres in 1994. His last appearance in the MLB was with the Padres in 2003.
