SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A giant sinkhole on busy Mission Bay Drive backed up traffic Monday and is expected to cause delays Tuesday morning in Pacific Beach, Mission Bay and Clairemont.

The stretch of Mission Bay Drive between the I-5 and Garnet Avenue closed about 1 p.m. after a 30-inch pipe broke.

One southbound lane of Mission Bay Drive has since reopened.

The rupture led to low water pressure in parts of the City.  Three businesses do not have water service. Crews expect the work the work will continue through the Tuesday morning commute.
