Several fires burn south of the border Monday afternoon

Plumes of thick black smoke could be seen billowing into the skies over Tijuana, Mexico Monday morning and afternoon. 

According to reports, two fires broke out south of the border Monday. 

The first fire started Monday morning as a plume of smoke could be seen rising from all over San Diego County. That fire destroyed several structures. 

The second fire that started Monday afternoon near Rosarito was identified as a brush fire that has consumed dozens of acres and is said to be moving toward populated areas.
