SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego State University football team climbed the national rankings after their come-from-behind road win over Air Force Saturday night.
The Aztecs jumped to No.19, up three spots, on the AP Top 25 Poll released Sunday morning.
Saturday's win in Colorado over their conference rivals saw them fall behind 9-0 with 7:56 remaining in the second quarter when the game was halted due to lightning. The teams were sent to their locker rooms for 88 minutes.
Rashaad Penny, the nation's leading rusher, struggled in the downpour (128 rushing yards) but helped give SDSU the win on a 53-yard dash to the end zone with 5:39 remaining to put the Aztecs ahead, 28-24. The Heisman hopeful's rushing total was 68 yards below his season average.
The Aztecs (4-0, 1-0 Mountain West) host Northern Illinois on Saturday.
