San Diego State University Aztecs will open the season with a bang!

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Beginning today is football season, but it’s the first time in nearly 60 years San Diego won't have a professional football team.

The Aztecs will host UC Davis for the season opener today at Qualcomm Stadium.

SDSU encourages fans to use public transportation and arrive early, the M.T.S. said, “More frequent Green Line trolley service will begin at 2:30 p.m. from the Gaslamp Station to the stadium, and will continue after the Sky Show in both directions as long as necessary.”

The KBG Sky Show 42 fireworks spectacular is scheduled to follow the game, a crowd of more than 50,000 is expected.
