SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State Aztecs defeated the Houston Cougars at the Las Vegas Bowl today with a final score of 34-10.
During the game, San Diego State's Donnel Pumphrey broke the record for most career rushing yards in FBS history with 6,405 total yards. Pumphrey rushed for over 2,000 yards in the regular season.
The Cougars (9-3) started the season as the darlings of college football after upsetting Oklahoma. But Houston lost to Navy, SMU and Memphis in American play — and coach Tom Herman left for Texas.
