CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV)--The San Diego Sheriff's Department today released the name of a deputy involved in a shooting in Campo on Sunday as Richard Phillips.
Phillips is assigned to the Campo sheriff's office and is a 23-year veteran of the department, sheriff's officials said.
The suspect in Sunday's incident that occurred on the 2500 block of Gladiola Drive was also identified as 66-year-old Bruce Dawley.
According to Lt. Keith Nelson, Phillips shot a single round toward Dawley after he appeared at his front door holding a gun.
