SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two San Diego Police officers, Tom McGrath and Max Verduzco, who survived and helped others during the Las Vegas concert shootings shared the stories of their heroism Wednesday.

As many as 20 San Diego Police officers attended the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Officer Max Verduzco helped an off-duty Orange County Police officer who was shot.

Verduzco's father is a retired SDPD sergeant who responded to the McDonald's Massacre in San Ysidro in 1984. His message to his son when he joined the department was he hoped he never had to respond to something that bad.
