SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man who refused to come down from the roof of the San Diego Convention Center Monday afternoon has been taken into custody, according to San Diego Police.

The standoff started at 1:45 p.m. when the man was spotted on a ledge at the second level exterior floor.

Police said the man dropped a knife to the ground. Officers have not determined if the man had other weapons. The man was also using a methamphetamine pipe, police said.

After being called to the scene, police worked with the fire department to get a ladder to the exterior of the convention center and bring the man off the roof.
