SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Two men were arrested early Friday morning in connection with an attempted break-in at a Nestor-area high school.
San Diego police said they spotted two men walking through the campus of Southwest High School (1685 Hollister St.) at about 2 a.m. The men, according to police, appeared to be carrying heavy bags.
As the two men fled from the school, a police K-9 unit and helicopter were summoned to search for them.
The men ran across a baseball field and towards a neighborhood on Oro Vista Road as the helicopter tracked them. The pair then jumped a fence and ran through nearby apartment complexes, but officers caught up to them and arrested them.
Police told 10News officers recovered items such as computers and speakers from inside the pair’s bags.
Windows of several classrooms were broken during the burglary attempt, according to police.
