SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested three people at a homeless camp along Interstate 805 in Clairemont Mesa where a fire broke out Friday.

A teacher at Innovation School saw smoke and called 911 about 12:30 p.m. Firefighters quickly put out flames along southbound I-805 just south of SR-52, police said.

Witnesses said they saw three people run from the area. Police officers hiked into the canyon and arrested them on suspicion of starting the fire and drug use.

A similar fire happened in the same area about three months ago.
