SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - To keep San Diego County’s blood supply at a good level during the busy holiday season, the San Diego Blood Bank and Broken Yolk Café launched a three-day blood drive in Mission Valley Tuesday.

The blood drive is being held at the Broken Yolk Café location on 1760 Camino Del Rio North, near the Westfield Mission Valley Mall. The event is from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Those who donate will receive a certificate for a free entrée at the Broken Yolk Café.

In previous years, the San Diego Blood Bank partnered with the Chargers to host a blood drive during the week of Thanksgiving. With the franchise gone, Broken Yolk Café is now teaming with the Blood Bank to host the event.

Anyone who can’t make it to the blood drive at the Mission Valley Broken Yolk Café can still donate at any San Diego Blood Bank donor center or mobile drive through Dec. 2 to receive the free entrée certificate.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 114 pounds and be in overall good health.

Donors can make appointments at SanDiegoBloodBank.org/donate, but walk-ins are welcome.
