SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KGTV) - A shark sighting closed San Clemente beaches for hours Wednesday.
San Clemente lifeguards said about 10 witnesses reported seeing a great white shark at the end of the San Clemente Pier just before 3 p.m. Lifeguards said the most credible witness said the shark measured about 10-feet long.
Lifeguards launched a drone over the area within 15 minutes of the reported sighting but didn't locate the shark.
A four-hour closure of the city's beaches was issued following the reports. If the shark isn't spotted again, lifeguards said the beach will reopen at 7 p.m.
Another recent shark sighting Saturday also closed area beaches.
