Robbers brandish guns in 2 overnight holdups

SAN DIEGO – A Logan Heights Subway shop and a North Park gas station were robbed at gunpoint about an hour apart early Thursday morning. 
 
Just before 1 a.m., a gun-wielding man demanded cash at a Subway on National Avenue, near 28th Street. He sped off in a dark-colored Toyota Tercel with an undisclosed amount, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
 
Shortly before 2 a.m., a gunman took an undisclosed amount from USA Gasoline, on University
Avenue near 32nd Street. He fled in a dark-colored single cab Toyota pickup truck, Delimitros said. 
 
The bandit in the Subway robbery was described as Hispanic, in his 20s and about 5-foot-7, wearing a dark shirt, khaki pants and black rimmed glasses.
 
Police described the suspect in the gas station robbery as wearing a blue Chargers jersey and blue Dickies pants.
