(KGTV) - If you see something, let them "no."
Users can submit complaints and reports to the California Department of Social Services through their complaint hotline: 1-844-538-8766 (LET-US-NO.)
After complaints are received, it is then up to the licensing agency to make an unannounced visit to the facility to investigate the complaint within 10 days of the report.
Those who submit a complaint will be updated on the results of the investigation.
"When you report suspected violations, you not only protect individuals in care facilities but also perform a service to your community," the CDSS website says.
Complaints can be issued for most state licensed care facilities, including child care, community care, foster homes, adult day programs, res and residential elder facilities.
Resources are also available to get into contact with a facility's licensing agency to report any issues. In some cases, the state recommends reporting severe violations directly to local law enforcement.
