SAN DIEGO – San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o has torn his Achilles tendon and will miss the remainder of the season, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
Te’o went down with a non-contact injury while in pass coverage during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Te’o is the sixth Charger player to be lost for the season. The Chargers lost Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead for the season to torn ACLs in Week 1 and Week 2 respectively. Running back Branden Oliver and tight end Jeff Cumberland both suffered Achilles injuries in the preseason. In August, wide receiver Stevie Johnson underwent surgery to repair a meniscus tear.
