(KGTV) - A Long Beach man was arrested by authorities investigating an explosion at an Orange County business that killed a woman and injured three others, according to the FBI.

FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said: “During the course of the investigation into the May 15 explosion in Aliso Viejo, investigators found a destructive device during the service of a search warrant at a Long Beach residence. The resident, Stephen Beal, 59, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an unregistered destructive device. Mr. Beal is not being charged in connection with the explosion.”

Eimiller added that Beal would make a Thursday afternoon court appearance in Santa Ana.

Details on what led to Beal’s arrest were not immediately provided.

On Tuesday afternoon, 48-year-old Ildiko Krajnyak was killed after an explosion occurred at the day spa she owns on the building’s first floor.

About 24 hours later, local and federal investigators said evidence gathered at the scene indicated to them that the incident was not accidental.

Several media outlets have reported Beal was Krajnyak’s former boyfriend, but authorities have not officially confirmed his relationship -- if any -- he had with the victim.
