Looking ahead, we're in for sunny skies, cold temperatures and gusty winds at times in the mountains and far eastern valleys.
On a related note, we got the numbers in from the California Highway Patrol on the number of crashes they responded to in San Diego County (excluding Temecula). They report a total of 546 collisions from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. For reference, on average they respond to 140 crashes on a normal 'good weather' day.
