SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Protestors chanted for hours on Friday asking Border Patrol to release their friend Claudia Rueda.
Rueda was detained in Los Angeles on Thursday while moving her car because of street sweeping. In April, Claudia’s parents were arrested during a cocaine bust in L.A. Her mom was released and cleared of any criminal involvement. Her father faces narcotics charges in L.A. county. Claudia’s friends say she was targeted for helping her mom get out of federal custody.
Border Patrol sent a statement this afternoon saying Claudia was arrested for immigration violations discovered as a result of the criminal investigation.
