Fans of Prince will be able to get a big-screen glimpse at the late music icon beginning Saturday, when his seminal film "Purple Rain" is screened at select Southern California AMC theaters.
Officials with AMC Theatres said the company began working with Warner Bros. shortly after Prince's death on Thursday to bring the 1984 film – which has been airing as a tribute on some cable stations -- back to the silver screen.
AMC will show the film at 87 theaters across the country, including the Mission Valley 20 theater in San Diego.
Screenings will continue through Thursday.
