At least two lanes are closed on eastbound state Route 78 in the Carlsbad area after a power pole snapped in half off the highway.
The incident was reported just after 2 p.m. off SR-78 at El Camino Real, according to the California Highway Patrol. A witness told the CHP a nearby power pole broke in half and was "sparking."
The two right lanes were blocked as crews responded to the incident.
No injuries were immediately reported.
