A Santa Cruz charter school says two of its students and one of the student's parents were on board the Conception dive boat that caught fire Monday morning off the coast of Santa Cruz Island.

Pacific Collegiate School sent a letter to students, parents and staff Monday night saying, "Our hearts are with these two PCS families, and we hope and pray that they are found safe," according to KSBY's sister station, KSBW.

The students and parents were among the 33 passengers believed to be asleep below deck when the fire broke out.

KSBW reports the school will have additional counselors on site beginning Tuesday to help the entire school community.

The following message is posted on the school's website: "Our hearts and prayers are with the families of the victims and those yet missing, particularly those of our students. Right now, our priority as a school community is to support our students, staff, and families. Please respect our need to gather and grieve privately."

Pacific Collegiate School is a public charter school serving 7th - 12th grade students in Santa Cruz.
