ESCONDIDO, Calif. - Escondido police are looking for a man who attempted to lure a teenage girl into his car by offering to give her money.
The incident happened on May 9 when a white man 40- to 50 years old driving an older red convertible approached the girl around the 1000 block of E. Washington Avenue, police said. The girl did not get into the car and reported the incident to police.
On the same day, a citizen saw a similar vehicle and driver in the same area slow down and speak to a young teenage girl who got into the car. The citizen followed the car and when the man realized he was being followed, he dropped the girl off before speeding away, the citizen told police.
