Police are searching for two to three men they say are turning off power to homes along Windcrest Lane in Carmel Mountain Ranch.
Residents reported their power being out around 8 p.m.
Police say the men were driving around turning off power from outdoor utility boxes.
When officers arrived, the men had left the area.
There is no word on whether this is a prank or a more serious crime.
