Two men were arrested in connection with an assault and shooting in Escondido that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to a report of a disturbance and gunfire in the 3000 block of North Broadway late Saturday night. Neighbors said a man covered with blood stumbled out of a mobile home and was screaming for help.
Officers responded and found the unidentified man with a gunshot wound to the head.
Police eventually tracked down two men linked to the incident -- 27-year-old Edgar Pacheco and 21-year-old Oscar Pacheco -- and arrested them on suspicion of attempted murder, torture and aggravated mayhem.
There is no immediate word on what led to the assault and shooting.
The victim's condition was not immediately available.
