SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police arrested a 16-year-old driver Monday for a chase through Allied Gardens that led to the discovery of marijuana plants.
Police said a sergeant on patrol smelled marijuana coming from a passing car. The sergeant tried to pull over the car for failing to yield at a stop sign but the driver sped away, according to officers.
The chase went through Del Cerro and ended at Waring Rd. and Birchwood. The driver lost control, spun out, and hit a brick wall at a home.
Police say they found potted marijuana plants inside the car.
The teenage driver was arrested. Three other people in the car with him ran away and have not been found.
