Police respond to threat at Helix High School in La Mesa that turns out to be a joke

LA MESA, Calif. - Police officers responded to a report of a threat on the campus of Helix High School that was determined to be a joke between two students.

Officers were dispatched to the campus at 7323 University Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. after school officials notified them of a possible threat on Snapchat.

Officers found that the supposed threat turned out to be a joke. The two students involved were questioned, but there is no word on possible punishment.

Police said the two students did not have access to weapons, nor did they have weapons with them.

School was not placed on lockdown.
