Security was increased at an El Cajon middle school Friday after a clown-related threat against the school was posted on social media.

Now authorities are saying a 7th grader is behind the terrifying threats that were posted under the name "elcajonclown." A viewer told 10News that someone with the username "elcajonclown" -- complete with a profile picture of a clown -- posted a threat on Instagram Thursday night targeting Montgomery Middle School.

The post said: "Tomorrow we attacking Montgomery at 9:30 AM send this [expletive] to montgomerys teachers we will kill all teachers and kidnap students we will have 19 people age 17+ be ready"

On Friday morning, it was a normal school day at the campus on 1570 Melody Lane. The school was not locked down, but police officers made their presence felt on and around the campus.

In addition to the increased security, school officials ordered classrooms to be locked from the outside. All access points on the campus were either locked or monitored.

Cajon Valley Union School District Deputy Superintendent Kari Hull said, "Typically, middle school students, if there was a stir, we would know about it, and it's been quite calm … the students are operating as normal."

El Cajon Police and district authorities are involved in the investigation. They're trying to sort out how the student behind the threats will be disciplined. The District says by Monday, everything at school should be back to normal.
