(KGTV) - One person is dead after a small plane crashed into the hills of Ventura County Thursday.
Ventura County Fire Department's public information officer confirmed at least one plane has crashed into the hills, just northwest of Ventura. Helicopter footage showed the small aircraft destroyed, as crews investigate.
VCFD confirmed they are looking into reports of a possible second aircraft down.
The crash was reported just before 12 p.m. and left wreckage raining down on Highway 101 near Emma Wood State Beach, according to witness accounts.
