A United spokeswoman would only say the plane had a mechanical issue and the flight was diverted to LAX where it landed around 8:33 p.m. She said the passengers were loaded onto a different plane to complete their trip to San Diego Friday night.
10News was there as the passengers arrived shortly after 11 p.m. One passenger, who wished to remain off camera, told 10News that there was "some type of hydraulic fluid leak" and the landing was a precaution taken by the pilots.
