CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Dog owners in a Chula Vista neighborhood are getting nervous after two apparent dognappings from homes on the same block of Date Street.
In October 2015, Inera, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, vanished from inside his Rick Meyer's fenced yard while he was on a quick afternoon errand. The gate was open and shut in a way that a person had to be involved. Meyer launched a big search but the therapy dog was never found.
In early March - a few doors down - Sandra, a 7-month-old Chihuahua, disappeared from inside a locked crate inside a fenced yard. Her owner says she has no doubt she was stolen.
