CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A gay couple - desperate to track down their missing therapy dog - says they are being bombarded by a flood of fake leads and cruel calls.
Rio, a 16-year-old Chihuahua-Yorkie mix, got out of his home 7 weeks ago while the dog sitter was getting the mail.
He served as a therapy dog for Corey O'Gormon-Carlson, an Army and Air Force veteran suffering from PTSD.
Since the dog disappeared, the couple says fake claims of finding the dog - including an address - keep appearing on their flyers.
They're also getting daily, heartbreaking calls: different voices claiming they've spotted the dog, followed by cursing and a statement that the dog is dead.
