SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A motorcyclist killed when he crashed into a utility box alongside an Otay Mesa roadway was publicly identified today as a 49-year-old Tijuana man.
Julio Cesar Villavicencio was riding a motorcycle that veered off Picador Boulevard near Beyer Way and slammed into an electrical box at a high rate of speed around 3:45 a.m. Monday, according to San Diego police and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Responding police and firefighters found Villavicencio's body lodged in the concrete vault under the utility box, but were unable to attempt to render aid because the box was still energized.
Villavicencio was pronounced dead after utility workers shut off the electrical current going to the box.
