SPRING VALLEY, Calif. - A fight between two roommates in Spring Valley left both men injured and one of them under arrest Monday.

Patrol personnel responding to a report of a disturbance and stabbing in the 8600 block of Valencia Street shortly after 6 a.m. arrived to find a bloodied man, later identified as John Borja, a resident of the neighborhood, according to sheriff's officials.

Deputies questioned Borja, then took him into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and took him to a hospital for treatment of his wounds, Sgt. Kotaro Murashig said. Details on the nature and severity of his injuries were not released.

Investigators determined that the alleged victim, Justin Lacsamana, had been driven away from the scene of the alleged attack by a neighbor. A witness reported that Lacsamana had been repeatedly stabbed during the fight. His condition was not made public.

The motive for the violence was unknown, sheriff's officials said.
