One dead in crash near MCAS Miramar

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man was killed after his car slammed into a tree during Friday morning's storm, police said.

According to San Diego police, the crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Harris Plant Road and Kearny Villa Road, just east of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Police said the 64-year-old driver lost control of his 2013 Chevrolet Corvette and struck a tree on the side of the roadway.

The driver was ejected from the car and was declared dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
