The elderly woman who died in a traffic collision in Ramona was identified Saturday by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Catherine Wallace of Ramona was killed Friday, one day after her 92nd birthday, when her car collided with another car at the intersection of Mussey Grade Road and Thomas Paine Drive near Dos Picos County Park at about 11:30 a.m., according to the ME's Office. She failed to yield at the intersection, the ME's Office said.

Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics minutes after the collision, despite efforts by bystanders to perform CPR.

The 37-year-old woman who was driving the other car was not injured, according to a Cal Fire spokesman.

Wallace was a widow living alone in Ramona when she died, according to the ME's Office. A cause of death was not listed.
