SAN PASQUAL (CNS) - A 44-year-old man who fell off a bicycle while riding off-road near San Pasqual Valley had to be rescued by a helicopter Saturday, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials.
An open space rescue response was dispatched at about 11:30 a.m. to Highland Valley Road and Old Coach Way, according to spokeswoman Monica Munoz.
The rider, who was reportedly wearing a helmet while mountain biking, lost control, crashed and suffered injuries to his right shoulder and head, Munoz said. He was airlifted to a nearby landing zone and taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
