OCEANSIDE (KGTV) - Police swarmed an Oceanside neighborhood Friday in search of a person allegedly responsible for shooting a man in the chest.
The incident happened just before 11 a.m. inside an apartment in a complex near Fireside Street and Los Arbolitos Boulevard, a few blocks from the Mission Shopping Center.
According to Oceanside police, the victim suffered two to three gunshot wounds to the chest. He was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
Police officers surrounded the neighborhood in search of the suspected shooter, and motorists were advised to avoid the area during the manhunt.
Per City News Service, witnesses reported the suspected shooter and another person may have fled the scene in a white four-door sedan.
As of 1:45 p.m., police have not located the pair.
