NEW YORK (KGTV) - According to an Associated Press release, New York City subways will no longer be using the term, "ladies and gentlemen," during announcements.
Instead, conductors are to use gender-neutral terms such as "passengers," "riders," and "everyone."
This gender neutral implementation by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is part of an effort to improve communication with frustrated passengers.

Other directives include providing subway riders as much information as possible in case of delays and mentioning nearby New York City sites of interest at various stations.
