(KGTV) - Heavy snow, mudslides and crashes led the California Highway Patrol to shut down Interstate 5 and Pacific Coast Highway Monday.
Both directions of I-5 closed through the Grapevine pass due to snow and crashes, Caltrans reported. The snow was expected to continue falling through the early evening.
Mountain driving was especially treacherous near SR-58 and several big rigs overturned, according to KABC.

Closer to the coast, Pacific Coast Highway was shut down near Broad Beach Road in Malibu due to mud covering the lanes. Malibu city officials said residents would be allowed to enter the area with identification when it was deemed safe.
