LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - A man was arrested after Las Vegas police said he "misplaced" his daughter during an alcohol run.

Police said they received a call from a 7-Eleven clerk around midnight on June 19. The clerk told police that the man, who appeared intoxicated, came into the store and attempted to buy alcohol. However, his credit card was declined.

Approximately two hours later, the man returned and asked if the clerk had seen his 4-year-old daughter. A short time later, the man was spotted looking for his daughter in the parking lot of a grocery store near Rancho Drive and Charleston Boulevard.

Officers began searching for the little girl and found her sleeping between two power boxes. Police contacted Child Protective Services and took the father into custody.

Las Vegas police identified the father as Edwardo Zepeda. Arrest records show Zepeda has multiple run-ins with the law ranging from traffic violations to domestic battery to burglary.
