Trenton, New Jersey Police is investigating why a 5-year-old boy had 30 packets of heroin in his lunch box on Monday at his charter school in Trenton, the Trentonian reported.

According to the Trentonian, the boy's kindergarten teacher first thought the packets were filled with candy, and requested that the boy put the packets away. When the student pulled the packets back out of his lunch bag, she discovered that the substance was actually heroin, and notified authorities.

The boy was taken to a hospital to be checked. Test results showed no signs of heroin in the boy.

As of Wednesday afternoon, no charges has been filed, and police would not say whether the boy was returned to his parents.
