A motorcyclist was transported to a local trauma unit for injuries sustained in a traffic incident Sunday morning in Del Mar Heights, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The biker tangled with a vehicle near the intersection of Boquita Drive and Del Mar Heights Road around 10:50 a.m. Sunday. His motorcycle struck the left front fender of the other vehicle, throwing him over the car's hood. The motorcyclist suffered a collapsed lung, broken left wrist and broken clavicle, according to police.
Police say intoxication is not a suspected factor in the collision. The incident is under investigation.
