MIRA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A motorcycle rider and bicyclist were seriously injured Thursday morning after a collision on a Mira Mesa street, police said.
According to San Diego police, the crash happened just after 5:30 a.m. on westbound Mira Mesa Boulevard, near Parkdale Avenue.
Police said the 28-year-old male bicyclist was traveling on the south side of Mira Mesa Boulevard when he attempted to cross the street at Parkdale Avenue against a red light. As the bicyclist entered the intersection, police said he was hit by a 56-year-old man on a motorcycle.
Both men suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to police.
Westbound Mira Mesa Boulevard was shut down for several hours between Dabney Drive and Montongo Street due to the investigation.
