NATIONAL CITY – Police are searching for a man who threw a Molotov cocktail at a car outside a National City home early Friday morning.
According to National City police, at around 2 a.m. a man approached the driveway of a home in the 300 block of East 2nd Street while a father and daughter happened to be sitting on the front porch.
The witnesses said the man suddenly threw a brick through the back window of a car that was parked in the driveway and then lit a Molotov cocktail and threw that into the vehicle as well, setting it ablaze. The suspect then fled. According to police, the father quickly extinguished the flames with a fire hose.
Police have no suspect information and no motive for the attack. There were no reported injuries.
